JASA was started primarily as a parent support group when I realized the need after my son was diagnosed with Autism in December 2004. I had no one to turn to for support, resources and services were limited, difficult to gain access and costly. Eventually at therapy and on the Autism circuit I began to meet other parents in the same position as myself.
